Love Song: We Belong together by Gavin Degraw

I’ve blogged about my love for Gavin Degraw songs before. His voice, music and lyrics are so nice, no wonder his music is featured in many hit tv shows.

This weeks love song is entitled We Belong together. I think the title itself is a nice preview to whats to come.

Here is a snippet:

as one we are everything,
we are everything we need.

we belong together,
like the open seas and shores,
wedded by the planet force,
we’ve all been spoken for

Chapeau de Gâteau

Cake toppers isn’t something I’ve really blogged about. I’ve talked about cakes many times but haven’t paid much attention to its toppers… and I apologize. They are as important as the cake itself, so today I was to introduce you Chateau de Gâteau a unique cake topper company.

Alison Dawson, owner and creator of CDG was nice enough to give me a little information about herself.

I’m originally from Vancouver, and have lived in Brussels Belgium, and currently reside in Toronto. Chapeau de Gateau seemed very fun name and appropriate for this product: the top of the cake! I’d love to develop the line further emphasizing ribbon in each creation.

You can find one of her super cute orange cake toppers on the well know Matthew Mead ‘s website. Plus, she is extending her line and working on place card holders and on an accessory line of ribbon brooches for the bridal party called C’est Joli (that’s pretty)

For additional informaiton visit her website. I have a feeling this is just the start of the success of Chateau de Gâteau. Hats to you Alison!!! :)

Giveaway: DYMO LetraTag® Personal Labelmaker

Happy Monday everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend. I thought I would start off the week with a bang. A giveaway bang, what do you think about that? DYMO has teamed up with ‘Clutter Queen’ Jennifer Humes to offer useful hints on how to get organized throughout the wedding planning process.

Today thanks to DYMO I am giving one lucky reader a DYMO LetraTag® Personal Labelmaker as to make their planning process a little easier.

“A wedding is a fun but hectic time for brides,” says Jennifer Humes, the Clutter Queen®, a well-known organizational expert. “To stay on top of everything there is to do, it’s important for brides to be organized.”

Here’s are some of her amazing organizational tips:

  • Make a detailed shopping list of all of the organizational supplies and tools you’ll need to plan your wedding. You’ll need things like file folders, a three-ring binder, albums and boxes for cards and photos, and a DYMO® Personal Labelmaker – these will help keep you and your fiancé organized while planning the big day.
  • Create a binder with sections labeled for calendar, dress ideas, guest list, registry, shopping lists, showers and parties, thank you cards, gift lists, bridal party schedules, and so on. Take the binder with you on appointments and meetings. Everything will be in one place for easy reference.
  • To help keep track of the landslide of wedding gifts you receive, use file folders and label them by category – gift cards and certificates, receipts, returns, etc. Also, consider labeling the outside of the box a gift comes in with who gave it to you. This will help when writing thank you notes later.

For more ideas check out her Clutter Queen website

If you want to win one this - simply comment below telling me what your best organizing tip. A winner will be picked at random and will be announced on Saturday July 26th. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE !!! Contest ends Friday July 25th 2008 at 8 PM (EST) One entry per email.

Never ending celebrations

Unless you have chosen a specific date for all the important moments in your life, like myself… you might have one too many anniversaries. Its a known fact that us gals… love to keep tabs about all the little details, specific dates, times and all of that. So here is my list…
First date: October 28th
Offical going out: December 15th
The Proposal: December 24th
The Wedding: June 21st
Now my question is this, does the wedding date cancel out all the other dates? In my case my official going out date and my proposal dates are very close - so I can rule out one of the two. What dates do you celebrate? Do you have any special ways to combine your anniversaries? Please share :)

Eating your design

Finding the perfect cake design can be hard. Hey, Im speaking from experience. When I was looking for images for cake ideas, I realizated that I liked almost everything… so try and mesh everything together. I thought I would share some cake designs I’ve accumulated with the months.

I heart all sorts of bows and not to forget cute dots - source
I love contrasting colors - source

Floral patterns, lines, dots, even embellishments… I love them all . -source

Having edible lace on a cake is such a great idea. It looks stunning too.
I also love the mixture of simplicity paired with a bold piece. -source

These cake designs, you have all seen before. source

I love the idea of having shapes made with fondant. source

Do you want a round cake or a square one? Do you want a pattern, or do you go simple? Do you want embellishments or no? These are just a few questions you have to answer. If you are like me and cant seem to find the perfect cake design, then why not work with your baker and design your own.

Thats what I did for my own cake…. and I was really happy with the outcome. Did you design your cake or planning to?

{Good Thing} Shower Gift Labels

You will be showered with gifts all your life, therefore this idea of Shower Gift Labels is perfect to remember who gave what and thank them properly. You can find inexpensive labels and even make your own. Simply be creative and label away.

Image and good thing: MarthaStewart.com

Make Sending Thank-You Cards Easier
During the excitement of a shower, it can be hard to keep track of who gave what. Have a helper write the givers’ names on labels, and stick them on the box right after the bride has opened it.

Dressing up the tush

Undergarments can be as important as the wedding attire. Well, it all depends what you are planning on doing afterwards ;) There are really cute kits available in all shapes, sizes and styles. Personally, I’m liking the whole vintage/ruffle feel.

These beautiful ensembles are so pretty they would actually deserved to be worn as it… that’s right no clothes to hide their beauty. Nuits de Satin has beautiful pieces for all tastes.

If you prefer having only panties nothing says vintage sexy than ruffles. Here are some beautiful ruffle inspired undergarments. Now, they aren’t for every day use… but for a special event.. why not?

Via: The Trendy Girl & Strumpet & Pink
I also think black satin underwear are so sexy. Almost dominatrix ;) Whats your idea of sexy undergarments? Are you a fan of ruffles?
