{Good Thing} Glorious Peonies

Thanks everyone for comforting me and saying everything will be alright! :) But I’m back with another Martha Good Thing… and I’m sure your gonna love it.

Bird themes are very popular and small details can be incorporated through out the wedding. But what about centerpieces? Why not be different and opt for these Glorious Peonies. They are stunning and different then the classic branches in a vase. Aren’t they fab?

Large, open peonies settle into nests of twisted fern vines. Inside each basket is a shallow plastic bowl of water (for extra stability, use a wire grid to hold stems in place). A smaller nest atop the napkin at each place holds a more closed flower; its stem sits in a water tube concealed within the nest.

I love this photo! I just met with my florist this week and she and I were talking about this photo. Peonies are hard to come by in September, but she thought we could do something similar with large roses…

Hey Natalie… why not try bunching several carnations. They are cheaper than actual roses and give the same look.

I know this good things is simply stunning. Oh Martha! :)

I tagged this photo a few months ago as something i wanted to do…desperately. now things have changed and its not really feasible. for starters, there wont be any outdoor tables and in a dimly lit room they would just get lost.

my only solution, and idea for anyone else, is to take one of these, and put in two fake robbin eggs (found at hobby lobby etc) and secure them, and then place the rings inside and give it to the ring bearer to bring down the aisle.
