My wedding is this July 12th & so far, my favorite pre-wedding memory is of course my engagement day. My fiance had planned surprise after surprise, a day full of fun for the both of us, leading to a dinner celebration with both of our families. Well, that and the cake tasting. Shout out to La Duni! Best quatro leches cake on the face of the planet! We can’t wait to serve it to our guests! :)

My favorite pre wedding memory was the engagement photo shoot. We got to bring our Chocolate Labrador and English Bulldog. It was so much fun, my fiance has said he wants to do this every year. :)

Cake tasting! Maybe because that’s the first time my fiance got really excited to plan the wedding =)

without a doubt, trying on dresses with my sister. it was so much fun, and it was the first time i’d ever tried on wedding dresses. we found lots of fun dresses (not THE one, but fun ones) and spent the whole day together. loved it.

Having my mother and maid of honor be there when I tried on my dress-to-be. They cried, I laughed and said “ill take it!”

My favorite memory is when my mom cried when I tried on “the dress”.

  • 7. Michelle  |  April 29, 2008 at 11:28 am

My favorite memory is when we called my future brother in law to tell him about our engagement right after it happened. He immediately said “I’m throwing you and engagement party!” and started planning the next day. The outpouring of love and support from both of our families was overwhelming!

  • 8. Christina  |  April 29, 2008 at 11:59 am

My favorite memory was the Running of the Brides sale at Filene’s Basement. My best friend flew in and we spent 5 hours running around and trying on dresses - so crazy! In the end, we BOTH got our Ones!!

  • 9. Courtney  |  April 29, 2008 at 12:31 pm

My favorite memory so far is right after my fiance proposed. We were in London during Christmastime, just the two of us. We had so much fun celebrating our new engagement and starting to talk about our wedding and our new life together.

  • 10. Michelle  |  April 29, 2008 at 12:37 pm

The moment when I knew I had found “the” dress and I finally felt like a bride!

  • 11. Kat  |  April 29, 2008 at 1:27 pm

My favorite memory so far was our amazing engagement shoot out in the “middle of nowhere.” It was so quiet and intimate… we’ll love those pictures forever!

So far, my favorite pre-wedding memory has been putting on my veil. It pulled everything together and my mom cried :)

  • 13. Dawn  |  April 29, 2008 at 2:28 pm

My most joyful pre-wedding moment was when I called my mom to tell her I was engaged. That counts as pre-wedding, right? :)

Me: Mom, I just got back from lunch and [fiance] proposed!

Mom: Oh, you just got back from lunch, that’s nice. [pause] What?!

  • 14. Mary Claire  |  April 29, 2008 at 2:45 pm

My favorite so far was when I tried on my sister’s dress just for fun, knowing that it wouldn’t fit and that it was so “her” it wouldn’t suit me…..lo and behold, everyone thinks it looks great and I LOVE it on me! My sis and I are both really excited that I might be wearing her dress as “something borrowed!”

My favorite moment thus far was to be a conversation I had with my daughter (3) about the wedding and her role (flower girl). She is SO intuned (and funny)..she said to me: “My daddy gave you a marry ring?…you are going to look so beautiful in your dress and my daddy is going to look COOL in his suit….He is going to have a flower in his pocket…you guys are going to be like Giselle and Robert (Disney’s “Enchanted”).

I laughed for hours..after I wiped the tears of joy….

  • 16. Kelly G.  |  April 29, 2008 at 3:58 pm

When my future husband proposed, of course! =) I was completely shocked and it was all so perfectly orchestrated and planned.

I am going to say engagement pictures - even though we havent seen them yet! The actual “photo shoot” was so much fun!

My favorite pre-wedding memory so far was the process of sending out our invitations and receiving our first RSVP. We spent months working on a custom letterpress design invitation with a small design company in Kentucky. When the completed invitations finally arrived, we spent that evening collating the multiple parts of the invite, folding and putting them into envelopes, and then applying vintage stamps (I’d forgotten how horrible old stamps taste!) to the envelopes and return RSVP postcard. I also gocco’d a custom border around each address on the outside of the envelope. The next day, we took them to the Post Office and begged our favorite postal worker to hand-cancel the invitations for us. I reluctantly handed them over - they were so beautiful that I didn’t want anything to happen to them. We were so happy when we received our first RSVP back in the mail a few days later! After mailing out the STDs, it was the first thing that made the wedding feel real and not just this ambiguous concept that we’ve spent the last 9+ months planning!

My favorite memory is when my good friend Sally found a free dress for me on Craigslist. The adventure was so much like our times in college.

My fave pre-wedding memory would definitely be the engagement day! It was a great dinner with family and friends. Loved it! Thanks!!

Our original reception double booked, and that quickly became my worsst pre-wedding memory. However, while I was in class on a Saturday morning my fiance texted me to tell me he had found a new venue, and it was 100x better. He later told me had to beg the coordinator of the venue to let us have our date. I loved that he went above and beyond to make sure I had my dream venue!

my favorite pre-wedding memory is believe it or not the 4 days before the wedding…my bridesmaids dresses were not in! We went to a great lady who sewed them from a picture in 2 days… all us girls were at the fitting having so much fun…drinking wine and laughing…..the dresses turned out beautiful and were half the price

My favorite memory: After I tried on a dozen wedding dresses, I picked the “one”. I went alone cause I didn’t want to humiliate myself - I bumped into my cousin, who is part of the wedding party, on the corner of 34th St. He came back with me to see the dress - after that we hung out in a bar the rest of the day just talking about everything BUT the wedding.

It would have to be the suprise bachelorette party with my girlfriends/bridesmaids. I had no clue they had planned it all during our annual girls trip at the beach!

So far… my favorite memory/the most excited I have been during wedding planning is visiting our ceremony site with our dj. (weird I know) But we talked about the logistics of the music/speakers, what would sound best in the space, etc. For some reason at that moment, getting married was real and I was just so excited.

favorite memory so far… finding my dress.

  • 34. HR Guru  |  May 2, 2008 at 11:39 am

It would have to be peoples reactions to our save the dates. I out so much time and effort into them and my friends and family just raved. That was a very nice feeling! now onto the invitations!

  • 35. Eipryl  |  May 2, 2008 at 1:55 pm

My favorite pre-wedding memory was the day that we found our reception venue. We visited over 30 sites throughout Los Angeles and Orange Counties, we were about to give up and settle, but decided to visit one last reception venue near our home. The second we walked in, we just knew.

  • 36. Erica M  |  May 2, 2008 at 2:29 pm

My favorite pre-wedding memory so far was when the fiance and I walked around our garden courtyard reception area and started talking about what the wedding would look like and feel like in a short 2 months from now.

  • 37. Brooke L.  |  May 2, 2008 at 9:28 pm

It has all been fun, but I am particularly enjoying my friends’ and families responses now that we are counting down the date at 6 weeks. It is a dominant aspect of conversations everywhere I go and I am not bringing it up. When they ask…I have been telling the friends and family about Cort (my fiance) finding the perfect tie online last week and how excited he was to get the order in the mail. Too cute. His face lit up like it was his Birthday. I know he is so excited!!!!

  • 38. Jen  |  May 3, 2008 at 8:54 pm

The running of the brides! so so so much fun.

  • 39. SarahC  |  May 4, 2008 at 7:15 pm

My favorite memory so far is when my fiance and I went to go look at the chapel and were standing up at the altar (the chapel was built in the early 1900’s and has gorgeous stained glass windows and is super tiny which will be so intimate.) - it was one of those moments that made all this planning so real, like it’s really happening.

  • 40. Sam  |  May 4, 2008 at 8:28 pm

    My favorite memory? (Proposal aside)

Actually it would have to be celebrating our engagement with my parents. They took us out for dinner and drinks, and it was just a great night. It reminded me that our engagement meant more than just a wedding, it meant the joining of two families.

My wife and I had an intimate wedding in Jamaica. I am a wedding photographer ! we went out looking for someone to take the wedding photos on the Island! And I soon realized that i wasn’t going to let anyone photograph my own wedding. I was ready to do without the photos. And of course my wife thought otherwise. I had a little point and shoot camera, a baby tripode and my rolleiflex. I decided to photograph the wedding myself - Only I wanted to use TriX BW film which i loved so much and did not carry. We went all around Kingston, the capital looking for it - And I did photograph my own wedding at the end with the right film and a beautiful light. The ceremony was on the beach at 9.30 am. We decided to have it early for the light. We woke up very early, got dressed and I took some pre wedding photos for a couple of hours as the sun came out on the horizon. Beautiful …. I will remember saying Yes I do for the rest of my Life. THE PHOTOS

So far my favourite pre wedding memory is sitting down with a glass of lovely bubbly chatting away what we envision for our future and wedding(s)- yes we are holding 3 wedding receptions! I felt truly blessed with a man whom I can communicate with.
