Love Song: I found a reason by Cat Power
June 5, 2008
Today’s love song is from the movie V is for Vendetta. Though its quite unique, it wouldn’t be good for a first dance, but think about putting it in your wedding video or for a photo slide show. I truly love Cat Powers voice and I found a reason is one of my favorite songs from her.
Here is a snippet:
Oh I do believe
In all the things you say
What comes is better that what came before
For those of you who know Cat Power, whats your favorite song from her?

How could you ever pick a favorite Cat Power song? They are all so amazing! But I am fond of Bathysphere.

This song is my fave! “Where is my love” is really beautiful, too…I am planning to have it play somewhere in my wedding videography movie…

I’d never heard this song before, but I agree, it’s very beautiful. Would really work well for a wedding video, but, you’re right, probably not for a first dance. I’ll have to rememeber it when my wedding rolls around next May. Thanks!

I love Sea of Love but it’s a cover. That is the song we have as an interlude during our ceremony. Love Cat Power and love that I found one of her songs o include! ;D

If you like the Cat Power version, you should check out the original version by the Velvet Underground. Cat rearranged the song a bit so it’s different (as a great cover should) but it’s still a wonderful song. There are some more lyrics that she doesn’t use, including a sort of spoken word verse by Lou Reed.
