Happy Anniversary to me

Happy Monday everyone!!! Hope you had a great weekend. I did and not to mention that today is a great day. You’re probably wondering why… well today marks my 5 year anniversary with my husband. I blogged about Never Ending Celebrations a while back and this is still an issue for me. I still haven’t decided what I should celebrate and what I shouldn’t.

Now I know that technically since I am married my dating anniversary is vetoed by my wedding anniversary… but I find it a shame throwing those 4 years in a half away is so sad. (I’ve been married for 6 months already – gee time flies) I don’t think we will be exchanging gifts or anything like that… but maybe a romatic supper or something – no?
I know I am being repetive with this question, but …. have you vetoed your dating anniversary by your wedding anniversary? I’m curious to know whether im the only one feeling this way.

We don’t know what exact day we started dating, so we just celebrate the wedding anniversary since we’ll never forget that one. sometimes we do something fun on our engagement anniversary and involve our kids, because that was the beginning of our family.

Hmmm…I think we will veto our dating anniversary for our wedding anniversary. We were never big on celebrating our dating anniversary anyway.
We have friends who were married two weeks ago ON their dating anniversary. Perfect!

My husband and I still celebrate the anniversary of the day he asked me to be his girlfriend and the anniversary of our proposal! We know as time goes on, we may not make as big of a deal of these two events, or we may simply forget them– but while they are fresh on the brain, we make a point in celebrating. In the past we have gone out for nice dinners, but this year we stayed in and made dinner and opened a bottle of wine. Very simple, but just spending time together and reminiscing was so perfect. So enjoy it! Happy Anniversary!

My boyfriend and I are planning to get married on our anniversary so we won’t have this problem. We go out once a month on the 18th to celebrate and we’ll get married on 18th Feb in a few years which is the day we started “going out”.
I guess that doesn’t help you, sorry. I obviously think yor original anniversary is special so I think if it’s important to you, you should find a way to celebrate it!

Its funny because I’ve been wondering the same thing. We have our first date anniversary, our engagement anniversary and now our wedding anniversary. I think we’ll celebrate all three forever if I can have my way.

As soon as we got married, we stopped celebrating our dating anniversary. But every year on that particular day, I always remind my hubby that that was the day we met!

We are getting married in May on our 5 year anniversary of dating. My fiance said you have to starte counting anniversaries again after you get married, and I said no way! So, when our first wedding anniversary rolls around, I will still call it our 6 year anniversary.

We celebrate both because we’ve been married for 2 years but have been together for 8! No way will we “throw” those 6 years away.
