Whether or not you are opting for a veil or not, you have to treat your hairstyle as if you would your wedding dress… with lots of consideration. Low style buns are very popular, because they can be very glamorous and at the same time not too overpowering.

Lazy Makeup

I know not everyone is makeup savy, but I personally believe that everyone deserves to look hot :D I came across Color-On Pro to summarize it - basically its makeup for the Lazy- lol. It’s quite an interesting concept, though I can’t say if it works well (or the results are like the images shown)

With over 15 colors to choose from, you can create your own personalize kit. Simply choose the style you like best and voila! The makeup artist in you is now at work

One applicator does both eyes! If you rub your applicator softly the transfer will create a light/soft look. Rub it with a little more pressure to get a very dramatic look. Every kit contains setting powder and a brush to apply it. Various options available. Prices vary between 18-30$.

Has anyone ever tried this product? What did you think about it?

{Good Thing} Silk-Flower Hair Bands

When I saw these Silk-flower hair bands, I thought they could be use for more than hair bands. Of course their first purpose is great, but what about using them for wrist bands, or to identify your glasses at a bridal shower party. Easy to make, easy to use.

Silk flowers never wilt or fade, which makes them a fitting memento of your wedding. Share them with your bridesmaids by making these pretty hair bands. Begin with a full-bodied silk flower, such as camellias, and attach a metal-free hair elastic with a twist of the flower’s wire stem. Clip off any excess wire. Cover the wire by sewing a bit of 1-inch wide ribbon, ends folded under, to the base of the blossom using a few stitches.

Makeup 101

Many brides-to-be consider doing their own makeup on the big day. The main reason being - to save money, which is understandable. The idea seems possible but can quickly turn into something overwhelming and frighting. Who in their right mind want to look like a clown on one of the most important day of their lives? Thanks to Sara ;) a Glamour This! / Weddingbee reader, and the magic of You Tube, here is a great tutorial.

Doing your own makeup is doable. The first thing I would suggest is making sure you’re using the proper tools and the right kind of makeup. M.A.C cosmetics launched their holiday collection and there are some great mini brushes for the fraction of the cost. These brushes will last you a lifetime (if taken care of properly-of course) and their cosmetics are worth the price.

If you are a person who barely puts on makeup than maybe opting for a makeup artist is a better choice in the long run. You won’t be spending money on makeup you will never re-use. But, if like me, you wear makeup daily… this can be done. Its important to do several trials ahead of time to make sure you have no surprises. Like they say practice makes perfect. Even take pictures so that the day of, you remember exactly what you did. Oh and one last word of advice, if you think you are one to freak out the day of, maybe doing your own makeup isn’t your best option ;)

At first I was planning on doing my own makeup, the fake lashes and all… but one of my closest friends is a makeup artist and offered to do mine. She is even giving me a facial, what a treat :D We are doing trial tests to get it right. So don’t forget to do yours too!!!

Smile - its the weekend

Its important to have a perfect smile on the big day. We wouldn’t want the most beautiful pictures result with a yellow smile! That is why it’s important to consider your options early, since some procedures take longer than others to complete. Generally couples will opt for a less expensive way to a bright smile. Some even consider do-it-yourself home mixtures. Thanks to Bride and Bloom here are ways to get a whiter smile.

Source: Brides.com

Laser whitening: This is the quickest and most expensive form or whitening. It commands drastic results in only about an hour with a cosmetic dentist and costs approximately $500-600.

Trays: This process can vary in price from about $300 for custom trays from your dentist that take 5-7 days to work and last up to a year to over the counter tray whitening kits from names like Rembrant (drugstore.com) and GoSmile (sephora.com) that range from $14 - $100.

Strips and Pastes

These forms of whitening take longer to get a noticeable result – at least 10 days, and the results are sometimes mixed. However, you can incorporate the cost into your everyday pharmacy spending, and there are products like Sensodyne Extra Whitening that work well for sensitive teeth.

The most important thing to remember is not to wait until the last minute! Not because of the possibilities of disappointing or disastrous results, but because all whitening products or processes are going to cause some discomfort for most people. Gum sensitivity is the most common side effect. Make sure you are finished with whatever procedure you choose at least 2 weeks prior to the big day. Also :

Ditch the stainmakers : Skip coffee, tea and especially red wine during wedding related events. Red wine can make teeth and gums look discolored after only a few sips.

Bleach as a couple: Make sure your teeth are equally white so you don’t inadvertently make your new hubby look bad if he doesn’t do the same. A couple that bleaches together… Looks great in photos together!

Beauty pagent secrets:We’ve all heard the rumors about how beauty queens use hemorrhoid cream to avoid under eye puffiness, well that thing about a little bit of Vaseline on your upper teeth really works too! Just the tiniest bit can keep your lips natural even if dry mouth sets in with the last minute jitters. Put a tube of petroleum based lip balm in your handbag with the lipstick and gloss!
