September = Back to school

Welcome September… how I  ♥ thee. The morning freshness reminds me of Back to school. Something I was always was looking forward to when I was a kid. Why? Meant that not only did I get to see my friends again… but I got all new school supplies. Highlighters, pens, pencils, notebooks… it was awesome!

When I saw these awesome pieces from Anthropologie… I had to share. Makes me almost want to go back to school

Yummy Cardboard

I heart paper in all shapes, forms and sizes. I love sweets from cakes to cupcakes. Whats the link between the 2? Something that I would of never thought about doing, but the amazing Patianne Stevenson did. She created an entire menu of goodies from cardboard. Talk about artwork!!!

Tortes, Coconut cupcakes, Petit Fours on a dessert stand and more. The attention to detail from the icing to the toppings are outstanding. Even if they are made of cardboard… my mouth is watering. mmm cupcakes. (said like when Homer Simpson talks about donuts.)

Makeover – In the works

Hey everyone!!! So its official… Blushink is my company. I registered it and all Its lots and lots of paper work and I must admit I don’t understand half of it, but nonetheless, Blushink is a company… HOORAY!!! I’ve been working on the website/blog redesign (hence the reason for my lack of posting).

My twitter friend (@sourapplemedia) Ty Dennis from www.sourapplemedia.com will help me out with the coding part of my website/blog. I am really excited to work with him, and were gonna rock the new design, I promise.

Now for those of you who are considering a makeover – I would strongly suggest creating a mood board to give your web/coding peeps an idea of what you envision. To help me out in the process, Ty suggested a great video tutorial explaining creating an effective mood board. Check out the video (click here) … for tips and suggestions.

The Periodic Table of Typefaces

Glamour This! has been the home of wedding inspiration for almost 2 years now, and with the revamp in the works, I’ve mention that the new blog will house a fusions of ideas (design, wedding, style, fashion, life) I need to get myself used to this change and thought this would be a perfect first post for “design flare”.

The Periodic Table of Typefaces created by Squid Spot is my ultimate thing to look at. I heart Typography and even though Im no pro… this is the bomb diggity. Its a canvas for the history of typeface and its when you analayize it you can see which font was inspired by another. This lists 100 of the most popular, influential and notorious typefaces today; including the designer, year it was designed and font family. A must for every designer. I posted it on my wall… see
