Book Review: The Wedding Book by Mindy Weiss

We all know of Mindy Weiss, the planner extraodinaire… well not only is she THE event planner, but she recently released her own wedding planner book. Its the ultimate all-in-one planner and if you are engaged this is the book for you.

Its filled with so much information, its no wonder they call it the wedding bible. It includes budget tips, step by step guides, information, traditions and even illustrations. This book will guide you all the way… from getting engaged to getting to the alter, from planning a great honeymoon to getting your dress cleaned. Seriously its the most complete wedding planning book I’ve seen in a long time.

Mindy also started her own blog in March. It is filled with great ideas and inspiration. I would add her to your google reader asap! ;) and thats not the end of it… Mindy also has a great online store. It is filled with unique and adorable wedding gifts perfect for your bridesmaids, groomsman or even yourself for that matter.

Don’t forget to get your copy of The Wedding Book: The Big Book for Your Big Day, its a 19.95$ well invested. Happy Planning :)

Never ending celebrations

Unless you have chosen a specific date for all the important moments in your life, like myself… you might have one too many anniversaries. Its a known fact that us gals… love to keep tabs about all the little details, specific dates, times and all of that. So here is my list…
First date: October 28th
Offical going out: December 15th
The Proposal: December 24th
The Wedding: June 21st
Now my question is this, does the wedding date cancel out all the other dates? In my case my official going out date and my proposal dates are very close - so I can rule out one of the two. What dates do you celebrate? Do you have any special ways to combine your anniversaries? Please share :)

All in the details… Erin & Michael

As I was reading my daily blogs - while sipping tea of course, I came across an awesome post by Mimi of Enjoy Celebrations about a stunning wedding she coordinated last December. The Bride Erin, is Mimi’s friend and I knew I had to share their wedding with you.

The entire venue is exactly how I envisioned my dream wedding, the decorations and details are simply right on. Their wedding was photographed by the renown Leigh Miller, and its no understatement that she did a fabulous job capturing the essence. The pictures are jaw-dropping, just take a look for yourself!

Erin has great style and taste, but that’s because she’s Erin Cole, THE Erin Cole. Miss Peacock already posted about her beautiful accessories a while back. From what I understood Erin does everything in a stunning matter, shes got taste and her wedding was no exception.

I present you Erin and Michael’s December 1st wedding:

From beautiful floral arrangements to unique paper products, this wedding has it all. I love the unique wedding dress Erin wore the day of. Its a unique creation made by Rivini. I love the puff sleeves…and not to mention that she looks beautiful in it - no doubt!

Its obvious to say that lighting plays an important role in this event. The candle light and the chandeliers make the atmosphere even more romantic and the outcome is WOW!

I love the chandelier trees. The beautiful crystal mixed with something so organic like branches, is truly beautiful. So magical yet so glamorous, its something I wanted for my wedding.

and the necklace… I heart this necklace so much… I’m almost drooling over how pretty it is. That’s because I love over the top necklaces and if I had the budget for it, it would definitely be something I would consider.

If my wedding comes out to be a tenth of what this wedding looks like, I will be the happiest bride ever. I love everything pretty… and I want my wedding to be a wow factor! Is that so wrong? I hope I’m not the only one who has this as a criteria while I plan away!

For those interested in knowing the vendors of this event…
Photography: Leigh Miller , Ceremony Flowers: White Lilac, Invitations: The Paper House, Gown: Custom Rivini, Accessories: Erin Cole, of course! Cake: Let Them Eat Cake, Centerpieces/Reception Florals/Programs/Menus: DIY
All Images from: Enjoy {the blog} and Leigh Miller

SMP - Little Black Book

Abby from Style me Pretty has launched her Little Black Book . It’s basically a highly edited collection of wedding service providers. They are recommended by our closest girlfriends, industry insiders and Style Me Pretty readers. What’s great is that each city has three, hand-picked listings per category.

Over the next few months, Abby will be adding vendors to the cities listed, as well as adding a nice handful of new cities. So make a stop at Style Me Pretty and share your oh-so-fabulous vendors. Canadians cities are not part of the list just yet… in hopes they will be next time around.

BluePrint - must have

If you haven’t made a pit-stop recently at the Hostess with the Mostess blog, you should. First off, the website has been re-vamped. It is easier to navigate, there are great add-ons and not to mention a flawless design. Also, as of yesterday, there is this great special Blueprint deal for HWTM readers!

Images courtesy of Hostess with the Mostess blog

Blueprint is the newest publication from Martha Stewart Living (only about a year old) and it has a fresh, modern style geared towards the early 20 to late 40’s crowd. You’ll find everything from fashion & beauty tips to home decorating ideas and - of course - tons of cool entertaining tips :) And by clicking here , you’ll be taken to a special page HWTM page where you can sign up for a subscription for only $10/year - which is 52% off the newsstand price!

This is an awesome deal. As soon as I read this , I was like where do I sign up??? Unfortunately rates are only valid in the U.S. My question is this - Why can’t they be friendly to their neighbours… Canada is not sooo far away. I am sad … and this is my sad face :(

Getting back to the Hostess blog - not only do they have cool give-a-ways, but this blog is a great source of inspiration and information. You should definitely make it part of your daily reads if it is not already!
