I’ve blogged about my love for Gavin Degraw songs before. His voice, music and lyrics are so nice, no wonder his music is featured in many hit tv shows.
This weeks love song is entitled We Belong together. I think the title itself is a nice preview to whats to come.
Here is a snippet:
as one we are everything,
we are everything we need.
we belong together,
like the open seas and shores,
wedded by the planet force,
we’ve all been spoken for
Happy friday everyone! Today is a good day, its officially my last day of work and I am on VACATION!!! Hurray. I don’t have anything planned really… and should be around to blog for all of yous. Maybe you can help me out giving me suggestions on what you would like me to write about.
Continuing on … This Love Song post is thanks to the suggestion of Sarah a Glamour This! reader. She mentioned that this played as the first song to her friends wedding. I thought it was a beautiful and unique song so I am happy to present you The Luckiest by Ben Folds.
Here is a snippet:
I love you more than I have ever found a way to say to you
Ever since the release of her latest album Back to Basics, I’ve been listening to Christina Aguileras latest work of art on repeat. Every song is catchy and not to mention meaningful. Not only is she what Glamour is all about but the vintage feel of her cd is what makes it even more original.
Her song The Right Man is such a beautiful song. Though it emphasizes the lack of her father in her life, I still think it can be a touchy wedding song. I invite you to listen to it and judge for yourself.
The lyrics are simply beautiful. Here is a snippet:
Well, I’m standing in the chapel
Wearing my white dress
I have waited for this moment
With tears of happiness
Here I leave behind my past
By taking the chance
I’ve finally found the right man
There is a big debate over disposable cameras at weddings and trying to think eco-friendly, I though I would suggest some ideas to have the advantage of getting your hands on candid shots taken by your guests.
There are endless amounts of free photo sharing sites where your guests could upload pics freely. This is a great way to have a complete collection of pictures. All you have to do is create an account and share with your guest the account info and instructions on how to upload pictures.
There are so many website, here are just a few (click on the icon to go to the website)
If you don’t want the hassle of creating your account and making cards to inform your guests, then Upload Your Day is the perfect option for you. The pack offers a modern solution to capturing the day through the eyes of your guests. Everyone joins in the fun and you receive all the images on DVD to treasure forever! Talk about a great idea!
They have 3 different packages to suit your needs and budget. Each come with a gallery, some informational cards, DVDs and more. Visit their website for additional information. But what a great gift this could be for a new bride-to-be.
Which ever option you choose, you will have loads of pictures which will only make your wedding day more memorable then it already is. CHEESE!!!
I heart the movie Juno. Not only is it a refreshing movie, but is very different than all the Hollywood Flicks… if you haven’t seen it, I suggest you run to your movie rental store and get yourself a copy. For those who know this movie, I am certain you love the opening song.
It is very but I mean very different, but if your that type of couple, this song could be perfect for you:
Here is a snipppet:
All I want is you, will you be my bride
Take me by the hand and stand by my side
All I want is you, will you stay with me?
Hold me in your arms and sway me like the sea.
Do you know of any other love songs from movie soundtracks?
This weeks love song is from a local artist called Gregory Charles. He is a very talented singer, composer and writer and just with his song Til the day I die, you can really see just what I mean. The music and lyrics are movie-esque and not to mention beautiful.
I’ve been wanted to post this song for sometime now, but it hasn’t made its way to youtube until now. Though it not the video of the song, but rather a personal wedding montage, I invite to listen to this perfect first dance song.
Here is Til the day I die - Gregory Charles
Snippet of the song: (I love the part about your father)
When your father looks at you and starts to cry
When you listen to the words “Indeed I do”
You’ll hear me promise to be true and always love you
And this I swear to them until the day I die
Have you ever heard this song before? Will you plan on using it somewhere?
Thanks to my blog, I have met some pretty awesome people. I love how people send you feedback and tell you how much they appreciate your blog. I received an email last month from Allison of Calgary asking me if I would be interested in designing her logo and stationery for her new wedding focused company called Allison Vanwinkle Photography.
I love my job and designing something wedding related is like the cherry on top of the sundae. So without further a-do I am presenting you her new identity:
She is having a pre-launch special 595$ for your full day wedding coverage. It includes: Engagement session, DVD of all image in high resolution, plus an on-line gallery. That’s a pretty awesome deal!!!!
Check out her work, and her blog too your gonna love the eye candy. Great work Allison!!!
Today’s love song is from the movie V is for Vendetta. Though its quite unique, it wouldn’t be good for a first dance, but think about putting it in your wedding video or for a photo slide show. I truly love Cat Powers voice and I found a reason is one of my favorite songs from her.
Here is a snippet:
Oh I do believe
In all the things you say
What comes is better that what came before
For those of you who know Cat Power, whats your favorite song from her?
There has been much debate about this and I would like to have your opinion on this issue. When a bride hires a photographer she hires his talent basically. What happens if you fall in love with a photographer but your budget doesn’t allow it. You tend to opt for the more inexpensive photographer, which is still talented but not your first pick… so in order to compensate, do you provide imagery of what you would like? Do you even provide a list of shots you would like?
This is a touchy subject because you do not want to offend your photographer in any way, but at the same time you are paying a fee and you only get married once and those specific shots are important… and its understandable that you don’t want to miss them. I personally think if you go about it in a relaxed kind of manner saying “I like images in this style” rather than pin-point every single pose you would like, its bound to pass better.
I think a list could be a great idea… but I wouldn’t go over board either. You still need to leave space for the photographer and his idea of things. Brides.com has a list which is quite complete, I would most defintely narrow certain things down, but overall it could be a great starting point.

One of the first song I’ve heard by Jason Mraz was a love song. So different then what I had heard it the past, it was certain that this was my new favorite artist. I thought I would share with you two of his fun love songs. Both unique in their own way, if you want to be different, then this my friends… is the way to go.
Here is the first : I’m Yours
Here is a snippet of the lyrics:
So, i won’t hesitate no more,
no more, it cannot wait i’m sure
there’s no need to complicate our time is short
this is our fate, i’m yours
Then If you like a different upbeat love song - in a Juno kind of way, then your gonna love Lucky by Jason Mraz featuring Colbie Caillat. Its a really cute song which was just released on his most recent album.
Here is a snippet of the lyrics:
Lucky I’m in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
Lucky we’re in love in every way
Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed
Lucky to be coming home someday
